Aprofood's food testing experts are committed to ensuring your food is safe. We can provide a full chain of testing services covering a wide range of common contaminants in food, providing you with accurate and timely results in a single visit, helping you avoid the risk of product recalls.
Food contaminants refer to substances that may be harmful to human health and are mixed into food at any stage of processing, storage and transportation. Each year, there are over 3 million health risk events worldwide caused by food contaminants. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully monitor the presence of such substances in food to prevent contaminants from affecting food quality or food safety. Many food contaminants are naturally occurring, such as those from processing techniques and the migration of packaging materials. Therefore, it is impossible to set zero limits for these substances. The maximum allowable limits or guideline values for contaminants and natural toxins in food and feed are determined and approved by the Codex Alimentarius Commission.

The scientists at Aprofood possess decades of experience in providing food contaminant testing that meets industry standards and professional requirements. We are equipped with a full range of analytical instruments and can quickly and accurately determine contaminants such as pesticide and veterinary drug residues, heavy metal ions, foodborne pathogenic bacteria, mycotoxins, and food additives in the inspected samples by directly testing food samples or environmental swabs.
Mycotoxins are secondary metabolites produced by fungal strains during their growth in food and food raw materials. We provide quantitative detection and content variation monitoring for various fungal toxins, including aflatoxins (B1, B2, G1, G2, M1), ochratoxin A, zearalenone, fumonisin B1, etc.
We mainly focus on detecting organic hazardous substances in smoked foods, edible oils, and other food products, including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), dioxins, nicotine, formaldehyde, etc.
It mainly targets phthalates (e.g., DEHP, DBP), terephthalates (e.g., DOTP, DINP), polyethylene, and polystyrene particles in food packaging materials, fats and oils, and ready-to-eat foods to guard against the risk of exceeding the standards for such compounds.
Vegetables, fruits, beverages, tea, grains, dehydrated vegetables, and spices often face risks of pesticide residue exceedance. We provide comprehensive testing for various pesticide classes, including organophosphates, pyrethroids, neonicotinoids, ethylene oxide, organochlorines, carbamates, etc.
We provide comprehensive veterinary drug residue testing services for various animal-derived food products, capable of detecting a wide range of residues including sulfonamides, quinolones, quinoxalines, nicarbazin, tetracyclines, antibiotics (such as penicillins), chloramphenicol, nitrofurans, cephalosporins, aminoglycosides, macrolides, β-agonists, avermectins, coccidiostats, methylquinolone, etc, etc.
Food processing can generate harmful substances such as biogenic amines and acrylamide. We provide testing services for key compounds, including histamine, cadaverine, putrescine, tyramine, and acrylamide, specifically targeting cured meat products, fermented foods, and high-temperature processed foods.
