Introduction	Devil's claw is rich in iridoid glycosides, making up to 3% of its composition. Additionally, it contains flavonoid glycosides like kaempferol and luteolin, chlorogenic acid, cinnamic acid, and phenylethanoid acteosid. The plant also contains quinones, triterpenes (e.g., ursolic and oleanic acid), phytosterols (such as sitosterol and stigmasterol), and sugars like stachyose and sucrose. The pharmacologically active secoiridoid glycoside fraction, including harpagoside, harpagide, and procumbide, contributes to its therapeutic effects.
